Ginebra Dominates Hyundai Fibus in Tuneup Game

The Barangay Ginebra Kings continued their preparations for the upcoming Governor’s Cup with a convincing 76-82 win over the Hyundai Fibus from the Korean Basketball League (KBL). The game, which served as a tuneup for both teams, showcased the Kings’ improved play and the promising potential of their young roster.

Coach Tim Cone was in attendance and expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance. “We’re still working on our triangle offense, but we’re seeing some good progress,” Cone said. “The guys are starting to understand the system and execute the plays. It’s encouraging to see.”

Leading the charge for Ginebra were the familiar faces of Justin Brownlee, Japet Aguilar, Stephen Holt, and Scotty Thomson. However, it was rookie RJ Abarientos who stole the show. Abarientos, who played for the Hyundai Fibus before joining Ginebra, showcased his skills and contributed significantly to the Kings’ victory.

The game against the Hyundai Fibus was a valuable experience for Ginebra. Playing against a foreign team with a different style of play helped the Kings adjust to different situations and improve their overall game. With the Governor’s Cup just around the corner, Ginebra is well-positioned to make a strong run for the championship.
