The first game of the PBA Playoffs quarterfinals series between Barangay Ginebra and Meralco Bolts. Barangay Ginebra won the game with a score of 99-92. Justin Brownlee was the best player of the game.

Joe Devance also played a significant role in the win. He returned to the team after a two-year retirement. Coach Tim Cone said that Devance’s return was a big help to the team. Devance played 6 minutes in the game and contributed 2 points.

Cone said that Devance was not yet in game shape but he was still a big help to the team. Devance’s return also allowed Japet Aguilar to get some rest. Aguilar is a key player for Ginebra and Cone wants to make sure that he is well-rested for the rest of the playoffs.

In the next game, Cone said that he would try to manage Aguilar’s playing time so that he can stay fresh. Devance is expected to play 15-18 minutes per game in the playoffs. After the game, Devance said that he was happy to be back playing for Ginebra. He also said that he was grateful for the closure that the team gave him.

Devance said that he was not planning to return to the PBA but Cone convinced him to play. Devance’s wife was not happy about his decision to return to the PBA. Devance said that he was not sure how long he would play for Ginebra.

He said that his body was already feeling the pain of playing again. But he also said that he would do his best to help Ginebra win. In the other news, Allen Durham said that Meralco would bounce back in the next game. Durham said that Ginebra’s defense was very good and that it forced Meralco to make a lot of turnovers.

Durham also said that Meralco was close to winning the game but they just ran out of gas in the fourth quarter. Durham said that Meralco would learn from their mistakes and that they would be ready to win Game 2.
