Justin Brownlee was silenced offensively in the second half as the Pelita Jaya bowed to the Satria Muda Pertamina, 84-71, in Game 1 of the Indonesian Basketball League Finals on Thursday night at the BritAma Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Gilas Pilipinas naturalized center was on fire in the first half with four three-point conversions before being held to just two points in the second half to finish with 14 points, seven assists, and six rebounds for Pelita Jaya.

Reynaldo Garcia Zamora led the way for Satria Muda with 25 points, including two three-point conversions, while nearly finishing with a triple-double after tallying nine rebounds and eight assists.

Artem Pustovyi added 16 points and eight rebounds, while Abraham Damar Grahita and Elgin Cook had 14 and 11, respectively, as Satria Muda took a 1-0 edge in the best-of-three title series.

After being down by as much as seven points in the opening quarter, Satria Muda countered with a run in the second period behind Zamora as they took a slim 39-38 lead at the half.

Both teams were engaged in a tight battle in the third quarter before Satria Muda created a huge separation in the fourth quarter as they led by as much as 20 points at 84-64.

Jerome Anthony Beane Jr. top-scored for Pelita Jaya with 15 points, while K.J. McDaniels ended with 14 points in the loss.

Filipino fans who watched the game online expressed their disgust towards Beane for being a ball hog and not passing the ball on Brownlee, especially in the fourth quarter.
