The game was a high-scoring affair, with both teams combining for 208 points. However, it was the Gin Kings who were able to pull away in the second half, thanks to their hot shooting and strong defense.

Ginebra’s import, Ang G Brown Lee, was once again the star of the show, scoring 41 points on 16-of-27 shooting from the field. He also added 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Brownlee’s performance was highlighted by his four-point play with just over three minutes left in the third quarter. The shot gave Ginebra a 97-78 lead, and the Beermen were never able to recover.

Aside from Brownlee, Ginebra also got solid contributions from Justin Brownlee (20 points), Scottie Thompson (15 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists), and Japeth Aguilar (13 points).

For San Miguel, June Mar Fajardo led the way with 25 points and 12 rebounds. However, he was unable to get much help from his teammates, as only three other players scored in double figures.

The Beermen will now have to regroup and try to bounce back in Game 2 of the series on Friday night.
