WJ reports that Jennie’s villa is situated in the La Terrasse section of the neighborhood. It features a modern yet lavish design that creates an urban atmosphere and boasts a view of the Han River. The house was showcased on the Netflix series “Super Rich in Korea,” where it was likened to an art gallery.
Sources reveal that Jennie paid an initial 500 million won (US$370,000) in February 2021 and settled the remaining 4.5 billion won in cash in November of the same year without resorting to a mortgage. This made the value of her villa reach 5 billion won (US$3.7 million) in total.
The villa, spanning 223.97 square meters, includes five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a wine cellar. Her neighbors are members of the South Korean boy group BTS—Jin, Suga, and RM—as well as boy group Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Taeyang, and actress Song Hye Kyo.
Born Kim Jennie in Seoul, the 28-year-old singer spent five years studying in New Zealand before returning to South Korea to debut with Blackpink in 2016.
She embarked on a solo career in 2018 with her single “Solo.” Her latest song “You & Me” reached the top of various international charts, including the UK Singles Downloads Chart, marking a milestone as the first track by a Korean female solo artist to achieve this.
Jennie has also made a significant impact in the fashion world, representing major brands such as Chanel and Calvin Klein.
Her net worth is estimated to be around US$10 million, not including inheritance, according to the South China Morning Post. Her mother is said to be a shareholder in CJ E&M, a leading entertainment firm in South Korea.
Jennie established her own agency Odd Atelier (OA) in November last year, following the conclusion of her contract with Blackpink’s management agency YG Entertainment. OA aims to “create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected,” as stated on its social media profiles.
While managed by OA for her solo pursuits, Jennie will continue her group activities with Blackpink under YG Entertainment’s management.
