NO MORE INTROVOYS FOR MAGNOLIA HOTSHOTS | PBA

CHICAGO – Fairly or unfairly, Magnolia has been maligned as an elimination round team, one that sizzles to begin a race before conking out in the end.

This is why PBA fans label them as “introvoys.”

Not anymore.

With a 1-2 won-lost record in the ongoing Philippine Cup, Magnolia appears to have reversed its DNA in this conference by starting slow and aiming to finish fast.

The Hotshots are unusually cold, what the hell is going on?

With only one win and one player suspended –Calvin Abueva– the Hotshots are making more noise off the court than inside. And that ain’t right.

This might just be a hiccup. But it could also escalate quickly that a Heimlich maneuver might be needed.

WHO KNEW THAT A BRAND NAME KNOWN FOR ITS ICE CREAM COULD BE A HOT MESS, EH?

After beating a comatose Converge Fiber Xers, 106-75, on March 16, Magnolia lost to Ginebra, 87-77, last March 31. They also bowed to NLEX yesterday, 87-74.

Against Robert Bolick and the Road Warriors, the Hotshots looked less athletic than their ballboys, shooting just 34 percent from the field (24-of-69) and 26 percent from three-point range (7-of-26).

Magnolia also vomited 18 turnovers which NLEX converted into 21 points.

Dazed and confused isn’t the usual vibe of a Chito Victorlero-coached team, but that’s what the Hotshots are now.

TIME TO BLOW UP MAGNOLIA?

I don’t know what the problem is. I just see the symptoms such as an erring star and a spate of injuries that have plagued the team as of late.

At this point, you have to wonder if Magnolia is slowly getting crushed by the weight of Abueva’s distractions.

You also have to consider if this team is getting old and frail.

But if you’re looking for a rebuild or a retool, don’t hold your breath. Coach Victolero tends to go all-in, and down if needed, with his “guys.”

Magnolia Hotshots Drop Traditional Introvoys: A New Era Begins

In a surprising move that has sent ripples through the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), the Magnolia Hotshots have announced the discontinuation of their iconic introvoys. The decision, while unexpected, has sparked curiosity and speculation about the team’s future direction.

Known for their energetic and captivating performances, the Magnolia Hotshots have long been synonymous with their signature introvoys. These high-flying dunks and flashy plays have become a staple of their games, captivating audiences and establishing a unique brand identity.

While the team has yet to officially provide a reason for this change, fans and industry insiders alike are left wondering about the motivations behind the decision. Some speculate that it might be a strategic move to focus on team defense and ball movement, while others believe it could be a response to increasing competition in the league.

Regardless of the reasons, the decision marks a significant turning point for the Magnolia Hotshots. As they embark on a new chapter without their beloved introvoys, fans are eagerly anticipating what the future holds for this talented group.
