MANILA – Creamline stars Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos have sat out the Cool Smashers’ games so far in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference.

According to coach Sherwin Meneses, their absence was due to “minor injuries.”

He, however did not go into details when asked about the matter after they won against Farm Fresh, 24-26, 25-23 25-21, 25-16, on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

“There is a minor injury, but hopefully they can return to our team soon. That’s the only update our PTs gave us, so it’s only a minor injury,” he said.

Meneses, who also celebrated his birthday on Saturday, added that they won’t rush the recovery of their star players.

“There is a timeline, but of course it can’t be rushed. Hopefully they can come back soon.”

Despite going 1-1 in the tilt, Meneses remains upbeat as he continues to observe the team’s upcoming performances.

“We are looking at our team, of course there are different faces inside. We are also looking at what the team can produce, what we can improve as a team, especially in our first stringers,” said Meneses.

“Last game, [our] game was really good, there were really only breaks of the game, so we weren’t too sad. Fortunately, we recovered. Our team will continue to improve, that’s what Our target is to improve every game.”

One of Meneses’ wishes on his birthday is a healthy Creamline roster.

“[I hope] our team will have a good outcome. Of course, it’s also healthy. I hope we stay away from injuries,” he said.
