Denden Revilla has mixed emotions facing Choco Mucho with Creamline

Denden Lazaro-Revilla was all business on Thursday night, taking charge defensively in the defending champion Creamline’s shocking sweep of her former squad, Choco Mucho, in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

Lazaro-Revilla, who sat out the team’s last two games, helped the Cool Smashers gain a much-needed victory over the Flying Titans, 25-17, 25-22, 25-19, to bolster their semifinal bid at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The veteran defensive ace shared duties with Kyla Atienza and managed to finish with 17 excellent receptions in the one-hour, 28-minute victory that hiked their record to 8-2, tying the Flying Titans.

“In a way, it feels weird, kasi it’s kinda fresh. Ilang months pa lang kami with Creamline. But ‘yun nga, when we’re inside the court, it’s all business. Outside, we’re happy for one another,” said Lazaro-Revilla.

“I’m very happy that we got this win today. A very crucial win for us, especially going to the semis. This win boosts our chances and at the same time, yung momentum namin moving forward.”

Before joining Creamline, Lazaro-Revilla spent the past two years with Choco Mucho and played seven conferences with the team. She played a key role for the Flying Titans before eventually riding the bench in the latter part of her campaign with the squad.

The 32-year-old libero said that she is very glad to have found a new home with the Cool Smashers and thanked them for making her feel welcome since the day she arrived.

“Really, it does feel like home. Pagtapak ko sa training, parang pina-feel nila na welcome ako sa team,” said Lazaro-Revilla.

“The coaches, my teammates, and the management, they made it feel like I’m part of Creamline even though I was from Choco Mucho. Yeah, one big happy family.”
