MANILA – After missing games for Creamline due to Alas Pilipinas duties, Jema Galanza was happy to play for her mother club again.

On Monday, national team members were released back to their PVL teams, according to league president Ricky Palou.

“Siyempre, happy po na nakabalik ulit sa Creamline,” Galanza said after the Cool Smashers outwitted Farm Fresh, 25-15, 25-13, 25-19, in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference on Wednesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

There wasn’t much of an adjustment, Galanza shared, as she just followed the formula the team has been embracing.

The star spiker made her presence known in her first game back in the PVL after putting up 13 points on 11 attacks and two blocks — also claiming the Player of the Game nod.

There were no doubts whatsoever for Galanza after her team went on to clinch the Reinforced Conference crown despite star players missing action for Creamline, including her.

For ilang years, ‘yun na po ‘yun. So for sure hindi naman po para mag-adjust talaga lahat, kung meron man hong mawala,” she said.

The Cool Smashers will focus on scouting and recovery as they seek the elusive grand slam.

They will face the winner of Kurashiki-Cignal match in the Finals.

“So ngayon, kailangan lang namin magpahinga muna, maka-recover talaga, kasi ‘yun nga tomorrow, importante talaga and walang time para makapag-prepare. So ‘yun, recovery lang,” Galanza said.

“Kaniya-kaniya naman po kaming nagsi-scout. Hihintayin, papanoorin namin ‘yung game na ‘to (Kurashiki-Cignal) kung sino ‘yung makakalaban tomorrow.”
