Jema Galanza takes home PVL Finals MVP in dramatic series vs Choco Mucho

Jema Galanza was hailed as the Finals Most Valuable Player after leading Creamline to the 2024 All-Filipino Conference championship on Sunday evening.

The 27-year-old outside hitter out of San Pedro Laguna unloaded an all-around performance of 20 points and 13 excellent receptions in Game 1 as the Cool Smashers downed the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21, 25-16 last Thursday.

Then on Sunday, Galanza once again topscored for Creamline with 20 points to go with 16 excellent receptions.

And her performance helped clinch the title via a nail-biting 20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11 victory in front of 23,162 fans at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

“Gusto ko po munang magpasalamat sa lahat ng nanood sa championship namin against Choco Mucho. Congratulations syempre sa Rebisco!” said Galanza.

“Maraming salamat sa mga teammates ko, coaches, naglalaro tayo para sa isa’t isa. Bumabangon tayo sa araw-araw kasi love natin yung volleyball!” she remarked.

This marks her first-ever Finals MVP trophy in the PVL in her eight championships with the Cool Smashers.

Galanza also won Best Outside Spiker at this conference alongside Choco Mucho’s Sisi Rondina.
