New Chapter: Maddie Madayag heads to Japan for the Kurobe Aqua Fairies
Former Ateneo standout and Choco Mucho Flying Titans’ captain Maddie Madayag is set to make waves in her new team, the Kurobe Aqua Fairies, in the 2024-2025 Japan SV. League.

The atmosphere was bittersweet as Choco Mucho’s captain, Maddie Madayag, prepared to embark on this exciting journey with the Kurobe Aqua Faires in the 2024-2025 Japan SV. League.
Maddie Madayag will become the third Filipina to compete in Japan’s SV League this season, following in the footsteps of Sachi Minowa (Jaja Santiago) and Jia De Guzman.
At the airport, her Ateneo and Choco Mucho teammates Kat Tolentino and Jem Ferrer showed their unwavering support, bidding her farewell with heartfelt words and warm embraces.
Their farewell serves as a reminder that true friendships extend beyond the court, with her Choco Mucho teammates rallying behind her as she chases her dreams in Japan.
Madayag’s move to Japan marks a significant step in her career, offering her a platform to showcase her skills on an international stage. With her impressive defensive capabilities and leadership qualities, she is poised to make a substantial impact in the league.
Currently sitting at 0-2 in the early stages of the season, Madayag’s arrival is expected to bolster the Kurobe Aqua Fairies and infuse new energy into their campaign.
