Jema Galanza happy to be home in Laguna

SANTA ROSA, LAGUNA — The Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference went to Laguna for its Saturday gameday.

And it was something special for Creamline star Jema Galanza.

The pride of San Pedro, Laguna played inspired volleyball at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex here in front of more than 5,000 fans to lead the Cool Smashers to a pristine 3-0 record.

Galanza dropped a team-best 17 points on 14 attacks, two kill blocks, and an ace to go with 17 excellent digs for an all-around display as Creamline nipped CIgnal in four, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 25-12.

“Happy lang din ako kasi nanood ‘yung family ko, ngayon lang ulit sila nakanood, kaya parang ganado rin maglaro,” shared Galanza after the victory.

Galanza and Creamline are always a crowd darling wherever they go, but it hits differently in her home province.

Up next for the Cool Smashers is the 1-3 Akari at Philsports Arena in Pasig, which is always packed as well.

“Speechless lang ako sa mga sigaw nila sa pangalan ko and sa team,” shared Galanza.

“Sobrang nakakdagdag talaga sila ng motivation sa akin kasi everytime na maririnig ko talaga sila grabe gusto kong maglaro talaga nang maganda.”
