Alyssa Valdez ‘killed’ on a page, fans panicked
A Facebook post shocked the volleyball community over the alleged passing of Philippine Volleyball Superstar Alyssa Valdez, Saturday night, September 14, 2024.
In such a Facebook post that was first posted in a Facebook group, an anonymous account can be seen sharing about the alleged death of Valdez from the allegedly announced post by a verified sports news account, One Sports.
“JUST IN: Creamline Cool Smasher Volleyball Player Alyssa “Phenom” Valdez passed away at the age of 31 today, Friday, September 14. #OneSports #AlyzzaValdez,” captioned the said shared post.
The photo attached to the post also shows the volleyball player’s black and white photo with his date of birth and the alleged day of his death.
Netizens also caught the attention of the message written at the bottom of the photo where the post mentioned the name of Akari Charger Ivy Lacsina. “Our beloved Family, Friends Ccs Fans and one only Ivy Lacsina.”
It immediately spread to other social platforms such as X where various reactions poured in from fans.

Meanwhile, with the explosion of the said fake news, the satirical post has been deleted even in the Facebook group “Philippine Volleyball.”
