In the vault event, which is Yulo’s strength, the athlete born in 2000 once again outperformed his opponents in the finals. With two impressive vault performances with scores of 15,433 points and 14,800 points respectively, achieving an average of 15,116 points, Yulo brought home the second gold medal for the Philippine sports delegation at the Paris Olympics.

Carlos Yulo won double gold medal

With Carlos Yulo’s double gold medal, the Philippine sports delegation has risen to 19th place in the Olympic medal rankings. Yulo is the first and so far only athlete in Southeast Asia to win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

Carlos Yulo is a star in gymnastics, having won the world championship. However, before the Paris Olympics, Carlos Yulo was not highly regarded, because at the Tokyo Olympics 3 years ago, the athlete born in 2000 failed to qualify in 6 out of 7 events.

However, the training time in Japan helped Carlos Yulo mature greatly, before creating a miracle in Paris.

After winning the gold medal in the freestyle event, Yulo was awarded nearly 6 billion VND in cash, plus a luxury apartment. The 24-year-old athlete is expected to continue to receive a shower of bonuses while helping the Philippines gain fame at the Olympics.
