Rachel Daquis returns to court, signs with Farm Fresh

Farm Fresh made waves on Friday with the signing of veteran volleyball star Rachel Anne Daquis for the upcoming 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference, a move that adds both skill and leadership to the Foxies’ roster.

Known for her stellar career and long list of achievements, Daquis is set to bring a wealth of experience to the Foxies as they gear up for the new season.

“It’s been said a couple of times before: Farm Fresh needs a veteran outside hitter who can lead the team to greater heights. And that’s exactly what we got. Join us as we welcome another PH volley icon into the Farm Fresh fold, FOXY RACHEL ANNE DAQUIS!” the team announced.

Daquis, now 36, took a break from the sport in 2024 to focus on her business pursuits but is now ready to return to the court with renewed vigor.

She previously spent six successful seasons with Cignal, where her leadership helped the team secure four third-place finishes and a runner-up spot in the 2022 Reinforced Conference.

Starting her career in the Shakey’s V-League, Daquis quickly established herself among the league’s best, first earning the Best Server title in Season 7’s Open Conference.

She continued to shine, clinching the Finals MVP award in the Season 8 Open Conference and becoming a dual MVP in Season 11, taking home both the Finals MVP for the First Conference and the Conference MVP title in the All-Filipino Conference.

Also joining her is libero Jheck Dionela, who will further reinforce the Foxies’ lineup

Jheck Dionela signs with Farm Fresh

After 11 remarkable years with the Cignal HD Spikers, decorated libero Jheck Dionela is turning the page to a new chapter in her storied volleyball career.

Dionela, known for her defensive prowess and leadership on the court, has officially signed with the Farm Fresh Foxies, marking the end of her long tenure in Cignal’s red and black.

In a statement released by the Foxies, the team expressed their excitement for the addition of Dionela to their lineup: “After a long and historic run as an HD Spiker, proficient libero Jheck Dionela is ready to add a new chapter to her tale as she brings her talents to the orange side of things.”

Dionela’s move comes after a season where her playing time with the HD Spikers began to dwindle, largely due to the emergence of Dawn Catindig, who joined Cignal earlier this year.

Despite the change in roles, Dionela’s contributions to the HD Spikers’ success throughout the years remain undeniable, as she has been a crucial part of their campaigns in past conferences.

Now with Farm Fresh, Dionela is set to be the ace libero for the Foxies, a team that has been steadily building its roster for a stronger campaign.

She will play alongside rising stars Cae Lazo and Janel Delerio.
