PVL: Coach Sherwin gives update on Alyssa Valdez, Tots Carlos
MANILA – Creamline stars Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos have sat out the Cool Smashers’ games so far in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference.
According to coach Sherwin Meneses, their absence was due to “minor injuries.”
He, however did not go into details when asked about the matter after they won against Farm Fresh, 24-26, 25-23 25-21, 25-16, on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
“May minor injury kasi eh, pero hopefully makabalik agad sila sa team namin. ‘Yun lang naman ‘yung binigay samin na update ng mga PTs namin, so minor injury lang naman,” he said.
Meneses, who also celebrated his birthday on Saturday, added that they won’t rush the recovery of their star players.
“Merong timeline, pero syempre hindi basta-basta mamadaliin. Hopefully makabalik sila agad.”
Despite going 1-1 in the tilt, Meneses remains upbeat as he continues to observe the team’s upcoming performances.
“Tinitingnan namin ‘yung team namin, siyempre iba ‘yung mga mukha na nasa loob. Kami rin, tinitingnan namin kung ano maibubuga ng team, kung ano ba yung i-improve namin as a team, lalo na sa first stringers namin,” said Meneses.
“Last game, maganda naman talaga ‘yung laro [namin], talagang breaks of the game lang ‘yung nangyari, kaya hindi kami masyadong nalungkot. Buti na lang nakabawi rin kami. Magi-improve pa ‘yung team namin, ‘yun ‘yung target namin, every game magi-improve kami.”
One of Meneses’ wishes on his birthday is a healthy Creamline roster.
“[Sana] maging maganda ‘yung kinalabasan ng team namin. Siyempre healthy din. ‘Yung injuries, sana layuan kami,” he said.
