Sharing the same adventure of playing volleyball in a foreign land, Choco Mucho’s Zoi Faki and Akari’s Oly Okaro turn into besties during their PVL stint.

There are many different types of tropes, and ‘rivals to friends’ perfectly describes the relationship between Choco Mucho’s Zoi Faki and Akari’s Oly Okaro.

Choco Mucho Flying Titans’ import Zoi Faki shared a cute snap with her Akari counterpart Oly Okaro at Bonifacio Global City, a spot Zoi mentioned as her go-to during an interview with One Sports.

Faki’s caption suggests that the Philippines may not have been the first place where she’s crossed paths with Okaro.

Faki played for AO Thiras and Apollon Kalamatas in her native Greece, while Okaro was with ASP Thetis Voulas in the A1 Ethniki Women’s Volleyball Championship last season.

As their careers led them to the PVL, the Philippines may have ignited a stronger friendship between the two hard-hitters.

In fact, the two had already been spotted together before, as Zoi previously shared a photo of them in an Instagram story back in July.

In the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, Okaro and Faki only had one head-to-head matchup, with Akari Chargers escaping the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in a five-set affair.

Although they have competed against each other again, their shared history has now strengthened their friendship.

Despite the contrasting turns of their PVL campaigns, the stint in the Premier Volleyball League certainly guided Faki and Okaro into each other, forming a great friendship.
