PVL: Jovelyn Gonzaga to bring rich volleyball experience to young ZUS Coffee squad

MANILA, Philippines – Veteran spiker Jovelyn Gonzaga has joined the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles ahead of the 2024-25 season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
The young ZUS Coffee squad formally announced the development on Tuesday in a social media post, although Gonzaga has recently made Instagram posts that feature the coffee shop brand.
“OFFICIAL: Welcome to the ZUS family, @bionic_ilongga!” the post read.
The 32-year-old Gonzaga last played in the PVL during the 2024 All-Filipino Conference with the Cignal HD Spikers.
She skipped the recent 2024 Reinforced and Invitational Conferences due to commitments to the Philippine Army.
The 5-foot-8 opposite hitter is expected to play next season with much-awaited rookie sensation Thea Gagate from De La Salle University (DLSU).
The former Philippine Super Liga Most Valuable Player (MVP), alongside Gagate, will try to help ZUS Coffee improve its standings at the next conference after placing 12th in this year’s iteration of the Reinforced tilt.
