Ginebra Dominates San Miguel in Semi-Finals Opener
The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel opened their PBA Governors’ Cup semi-finals campaign with a convincing 119-109 victory over the San Miguel Beermen. The game was highlighted by a stellar performance from Justin Brownlee, who finished with 34 points on 13-of-24 shooting.
Brownlee was virtually unstoppable in the second half, scoring 22 of his points after the break. He also added 10 rebounds and 5 assists.
“I just wanted to come out and play hard,” Brownlee said after the game. “We knew this was going to be a tough series, so we wanted to get off to a good start.”
Aside from Brownlee, Scottie Thompson also played a key role for Ginebra. He finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.
June Mar Fajardo led San Miguel with 28 points and 15 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Beermen from losing their first game of the semi-finals.
The series now shifts to San Miguel on Wednesday night.
