On July 26th, CGV and YG Entertainment announced the release of the highly anticipated film “BLACKPINK World Tour: Born Pink Cinemas.” This film, capturing live performances from BLACKPINK’s record-breaking world tour, is slated to hit theaters on July 31st.

The Born Pink tour featured 66 performances across 34 cities worldwide, with stops in North America, Europe, and Asia, attracting an impressive 1.8 million attendees. This achievement marks a new record in the history of girl groups globally. Fans who couldn’t attend the tour in person now have the opportunity to experience the energy and excitement of BLACKPINK’s performances on the big screen.

Generating significant buzz, the film is scheduled for release in over 110 countries, making it the largest release for a live performance film by a girl group. This extensive reach reflects BLACKPINK’s international popularity and the global impact of their music.

CGV will offer the film in specialized theaters, including ScreenX, 4DX, and Ultra 4DX. These advanced formats aim to provide an immersive viewing experience. ScreenX utilizes a 270-degree field of view, capturing the concert atmosphere with panoramic visuals of venues such as the Gocheok Dome. 4DX enhances the live concert feel with synchronized vibration and motion effects, offering a multi-sensory experience that replicates the energy of a live performance. Ultra 4DX combines the features of ScreenX and 4DX, promising an unparalleled cinematic experience.

In addition to the film release, YG Entertainment has organized special events to celebrate BLACKPINK’s 8th anniversary. On August 8th, a screening event and fansign session will be held for 88 lucky fans who receive a golden ticket to this exclusive gathering. The following day, on August 9th at 7:00 PM, BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will attend a pink carpet event at Yeongdeungpo Times Square, followed by a stage greeting at CGV Atria Square, 1st Floor, Yeongdeungpo Time Square ScreenX theater.

Fans who wish to attend the pink carpet event but do not have tickets can participate in an additional opportunity to win a Pink Carpet invitation. By following CGV’s Instagram by August 4th and leaving a review of any movie they watched, fans will be entered into a lottery for a chance to win (2 invitations per person, 10 packs available).

Along with the cinema announcement, YG Entertainment released a new poster for the Born Pink tour in cinemas. The poster received mixed reactions from fans. While some were impressed by the visuals, others expressed dissatisfaction with YG’s efforts. Comments like “YG must recruit a new graphic designer” and “There are so many different photos of Lisa from her world tour, but YG always uses the same one in group events” were common. Fans also felt that Rosé deserved a better poster, thinking YG could’ve done better with her photo selection.
