MANILA – Choco Mucho announced Monday that Kat Tolentino will be missing action in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference due to an auditory condition “she developed some weeks back.”
The 6-foot-2 opposite spiker will take precautions, the team said as advised by her doctor.
“You may have noticed Kat Tolentino has not been playing lately. That’s because she is recuperating from an auditory condition she developed some weeks back, and her doctor advised her to take precautions and to rest,” the statement read.
“The team is supportive of the doctor’s recommendation for Kat’s well-being,” it added.
Despite her recent absence, notably in their last game against the Capital1 Solar Spikers, the Flying Titans emerged victorious versus the newcomers, 25-15, 25-16, 25-21, at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex on Saturday.
They are on top of the standings with a 7-1 and will have a lighter assignment on Saturday against Strong Group Athletics.
However, the Flying Titans might need her services on April 18 as they are slated to face defending champion Creamline at the Araneta Coliseum.
The organization meanwhile assured that “she will be cleared soon” to reinforce the Flying Titans.
Tolentino has been a big help for Choco Mucho, who is just outside the top 10 in scoring at 11th with a total of 78 points as of writing.
She has also been efficient in blocking, averaging 0.52/set, currently fourth among blockers in the league.
