Jennie, of the K-pop group Blackpink, has recently announced her venture into a solo career with the creation of her own agency named OA, which stands for Odd Atelier.

The artist revealed the news on Sunday with a post on Instagram, as reported by The Korea Herald.
“This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I’m so thankful for all the love I’ve received,” she wrote.
“I’m also excited about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course, Blackpink. Thank you.”
OA, reportedly founded by Jennie and her mother last month, currently solely represents Jennie. The agency aims to “create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected,” as described on its social media profiles.
While pursuing her solo career, Jennie will continue her group activities with Blackpink, which remains under the management of YG Entertainment.
Born Kim Jennie in Seoul, the 27-year-old singer spent five years in New Zealand for her education before returning to South Korea and debuting with Blackpink in 2016.
The artist’s solo music career began in 2018 with the single “Solo.” Her latest music release “You & Me” topped various charts worldwide, including the UK Singles Downloads Chart, making it the first song by a Korean female soloist to garner the achievement.
Along with music, Jennie has also established her name in the fashion industry, serving as the face of several brands including Chanel and Calvin Klein.
According to the South China Morning Post, her net worth is estimated to be around US$10 million, not including inheritance. Her mother is reportedly a shareholder of CJ E&M, a leading entertainment company in South Korea.
