The Creamline Cool Smashers have won the 2023 Philippine Super League (PSL) Grand Final, defeating the Petro Gazz Angels in three sets. This is the team’s first championship since 2019.
In an interview with the Manila Bulletin, Jema Galanza, a volleyball player for the Creamline Cool Smashers, discussed the team’s recent victory over Petro Gazz, her own performance in the game, and the return of Alyssa Valdez to the team. She also talked about the team’s goals for the upcoming conference and how they plan to stay healthy and motivated throughout the long season.
Galanza was instrumental in the Creamline Cool Smashers’ victory over Petro Gazz. She scored 17 points in the match, including three aces. She was also named the Finals MVP.
“I’m very happy for my team,” Galanza said. “We worked hard for this all season long. We’re just happy to finally get the win.”
Galanza also said that she was pleased with her own performance in the match.
“I’m happy with how I played,” she said. “I was able to contribute to the team’s win. I’m just glad that I was able to help my team.”
The return of Alyssa Valdez to the Creamline Cool Smashers has been a major boost to the team. Valdez is a former MVP of the PSL and is considered one of the best volleyball players in the Philippines.
“It’s great to have Alyssa back,” Galanza said. “She’s a great player and she’s a great leader. She’s a big help to our team.”
The Creamline Cool Smashers are now looking ahead to the upcoming conference. They are hoping to win the conference and qualify for the Finals.
“Our goal is to win the conference,” Galanza said. “We’re going to work hard and we’re going to do everything we can to achieve that goal.”
The Creamline Cool Smashers are also looking to stay healthy and motivated throughout the long season.
“We need to stay healthy and we need to stay motivated,” Galanza said. “We have a lot of games to play and we need to make sure that we’re ready to play every single one of them.”
The Creamline Cool Smashers are a talented team and they have a good chance of winning the PSL Grand Final again this year. With Alyssa Valdez back in the fold, the team is even more dangerous.
