Angel Reese returns home, helps drop Mystics to 0-10

Aaliyah Edwards holds her own against her fellow rookie, but Washington continues its worst start ever with a loss to Chicago.

In her first professional game back home, Angel Reese finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and three assists as the Sky won, 79-71, to hand the Mystics their 10th straight loss to start the season. (Stephen Gosling/NBA Entertainment/Getty Images)

Crowds gathered everywhere Angel Reese went Thursday. Reporters swarmed the Chicago Sky rookie at the morning shoot-around, again before the game and for a third time afterward. Cameras flickered repeatedly as she went through pregame warmups. This was the first homecoming for the Baltimore native, who began her collegiate career at Maryland before going on to star and win a championship at LSU. She commemorated the occasion with a custom version of the Reebok Solution, featuring the pattern of the Maryland state flag on the toe box and one of her nicknames, “Baltimore Barbie,” on the sides.
