After two quiet performances for Team USA, Steph Curry entered the third game of the Paris Olympic basketball tournament set to bounce back against Puerto Rico. Curry, unlike the other two leaders of the team, LeBron James and Kevin Durant, has been unable to find consistency with his shot.

Curry tried to be more active from the very beginning, moving the ball and taking shots. The four-time NBA champion scored five points in the first quarter of the game, shooting 2-for-2 from the field and 1-for-1 from beyond the arc.

Steph Curry only added a 3-pointer in the second quarter of the game after playing six more minutes. The point guard grabbed four rebounds and one assist, finishing the first half as one of four players with eight points. Moreover, he was turnover-less after struggling to protect the ball in the prior two games.

The second half was quiet for Steph Curry. The veteran played only five more minutes in the third and fourth quarter, only adding one rebound to his stat line. In eight field-goal attempts, he made three shots. Curry made 33% of his 3-pointer attempts, as his shooting woes continued.

Steph Curry says he’s annoyed by his shooting struggles

Ahead of this game, Curry shared his thoughts on his poor shooting in the first two duels of the Olympic tournament. The Golden State Warriors star explained that he feels annoyed by it, but he’s focusing on different things while he recovers his best version.

“You’re always annoyed, for sure, you always want to make shots but you can’t let that rob you of all that other stuff that you do to help win a game,” Curry said.

“I’m not even worried about it, just a matter of taking the ones I know I can make and that the game calls for,” Curry said. “I obviously want to shoot the ball well.”

At the start of the Puerto Rico game, he got some things going, making long 2-pointers and moving around the court to get open looks. Even when Team USA drifted away from Puerto Rico, Curry struggled to score, failing to make an impact with his buckets.
