He is expected to return to the Philippines this week and rejoin team practice. There have been rumors that Ahanmisi would be traded due to his perceived lack of impact on the team, but these rumors have been dismissed.
Ahanmisi is expected to play for Ginebra in the upcoming Governor’s Cup. Ginebra recently returned to the Philippines after an exhibition game against the New Taipei Kings, where they won 91-87.
They have since resumed practice to address chemistry issues and implement coach Tim Cone’s triangle offense. Maverick Ahanmisi has been the subject of trade rumors due to his perceived lack of impact on the team.
