The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel defeated the San Miguel Beermen 99-94 in Game 3 of their PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals series. This victory gives Ginebra a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Justin Brownlee leads Ginebra to victory
Justin Brownlee was once again the star of the game for Ginebra. He scored 30 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 5 assists, and stole the ball 5 times. Brownlee was also very efficient, shooting 12-for-21 from the field.
Japeth Aguilar also contributes
Japeth Aguilar also played a key role in Ginebra’s victory. He scored 22 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists. Aguilar was particularly effective in the first half, when he scored 14 points.
San Miguel Beermen struggle offensively
The San Miguel Beermen struggled to score the ball in the game. They shot just 39.4% from the field and were outrebounded by Ginebra. The Beermen also committed 18 turnovers.
Coach Tim Cone praises Justin Brownlee
After the game, Ginebra coach Tim Cone praised Justin Brownlee for his performance. Cone said that Brownlee is the best player in the PBA and that he is a joy to coach.
Isaac Go and Jamie Malonzo injured
Ginebra’s Isaac Go and Jamie Malonzo are both injured and are expected to miss the rest of the PBA Governors’ Cup. Go has a sprained ankle, while Malonzo has a strained hamstring.
