Manila, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone is optimistic about the team’s chances of reclaiming the Governors’ Cup crown, with the return of naturalized player Justin Brownlee as a key factor.

Speaking to the media, Cone expressed his confidence in Brownlee’s ability to quickly regain peak form after his stint in the International Basketball League (IBL). “Justin’s last game in the IBL is around August 4. Then we will come back as soon as possible because we have new guys. Hopefully, we will be able to teach new guys the system before he comes back and then mix with them, Justin,” Cone said.

The multi-titled coach highlighted the importance of integrating the new players into the system before Brownlee’s arrival. Once the naturalized Filipino is back, Cone plans to seamlessly blend him into the team’s dynamics.

Brownlee has been instrumental in Gilas Pilipinas’ previous campaigns, showcasing his scoring prowess and leadership on the court. His return is expected to provide a significant boost to the team’s chances of winning the Governors’ Cup.

With Brownlee in top form and the team’s chemistry developing, Gilas Pilipinas is poised to be a formidable force in the upcoming tournament. Fans are eagerly anticipating the team’s performance and hoping for a successful campaign.
