COACH JORGE MAY MABIGAT NA SINABI KAY SCOTTIE AFTER GAME 3

Intense Game 3 between Ginebra and San Miguel Beermen

Game 3 of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals between the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the San Miguel Beermen lived up to the hype. The sold-out crowd at Dasmariñas Cavite witnessed a thrilling back-and-forth battle that went down to the wire.

Ginebra Dominates Early

The Ginebra players came out firing on all cylinders, hitting a barrage of three-pointers in the first quarter. RJ Abarrientos, Stephen Holt, and Maverick Ahanmisi were particularly hot, combining for 15 points in the opening frame. The Beermen struggled to keep up with the Ginebra offense, and found themselves trailing by double digits after one quarter.

San Miguel’s Comeback

However, the Beermen showed their championship mettle in the second half. June Mar Fajardo and Christian Standhardinger dominated the paint, and the Beermen’s shooting also improved. San Miguel went on a 15-2 run in the third quarter to take the lead. The Ginebra team fought back, but the Beermen were able to hold on to a slim lead heading into the final quarter.

Stephen Holt Steals the Show

The fourth quarter was a tense affair, with both teams trading baskets. With the game tied at 98, Stephen Holt hit a clutch three-pointer to give Ginebra a 101-98 lead. The Beermen had a chance to tie the game, but their shot rimmed out. Ginebra escaped with a 101-98 victory, taking a 2-1 lead in the series.

Coach Jorge’s Criticism of Scotty Thompson

After the game, Ginebra coach Jorge Ejercito was critical of Scotty Thompson’s performance. Ejercito said that Thompson’s three offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter were crucial in the Beermen’s victory. He also said that Thompson was a “monster” on the offensive glass, and that Ginebra would have won the game if Thompson had not been so effective.

Thompson’s Response

Thompson responded to Ejercito’s criticism by saying that he was trying to help his team win. He also said that he was not going to let Ejercito’s words get to him.

What’s Next?

Game 4 of the series is scheduled for October 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Beermen will be looking to bounce back from their loss, while the Ginebra team will be trying to close out the series.
