BRGY GINEBRA VS SAN MIGUEL FULL HIGHLIGHTS GAME 4 | SEMI FINALS GOVERNORS CUP | PBA LIVE TODAY
MANILA — Justin Brownlee took charge on both ends to power Barangay Ginebra’s 99-94 win over San Miguel in Game 3 of their 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals series, Sunday evening at the Dasmarinas City Arena.
The Gin Kings got an all-around performance from their celebrated import to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven affair against the Beermen.
A 10-0 run bridging the third and fourth quarters put Ginebra in control, 81-72, with Brownlee starting the scoring spree by assisting on a Maverick Ahanmisi triple and ending it with a layup of his own.
For head coach Tim Cone, however, the key to victory was in their defense.
“We defended so much better tonight, we played playoff defense tonight,” he said. “That’s the story. We just played better defense tonight, I felt.”
Brownlee put up 30 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and five blocks, while Japeth Aguilar added 22 points. Ahanmisi added 15 points and 11 boards.
San Miguel import Eji Anosike had 32 points, while CJ Perez had 13 points on 13 shots. The Ginebra defense limited June Mar Fajardo to just 12 points, though he pulled down 14 rebounds.
Game 4 of the series is on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
