That’s what Creamline superstars Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos bared regarding the status of their recovery after the two Cool Smashers were sidelined during the 2024 PVL Reinforced and the Invitational Conferences.
The two attended the team’s celebration for Creamline’s historic grand slam achievement and meet-and-greet event held at the Joy Nostalg, Ortigas on Thursday, October 10.
“I’d say nasa more than 50% na,” Valdez spoke when asked about her progress heading to the new PVL season that will start in November.
The four-time MVP admitted that she is still focusing on improving her conditioning to be back in game-shape while participating in the practices of the Cool Smashers to do some extra work.
Carlos, meanwhile, also provided an update on her recovery from a knee injury.
“I think we’re still around 50-60 [percent],” the multi-time MVP told One Sports.
Both superstars were reduced to spectator roles in the final two title runs of the Cool Smashers, who completed the PVL’s first-ever grand slam feat.
Furthermore, Carlos insisted that she is not rushing the process to be fully healthy.
“’Yung progress ko is gradual. Paunti-unti, I’ve been training with the team since last week. ‘Yung load and pain management for my knee, we’re taking it one thing at a time.”
Overall, both volleybelles remained optimistic in being ready and healthy just in time to return to the taraflex.
Valdez added: “Still adjusting to our load of training and hopefully, [I’m] really praying na magtuloy-tuloy ‘yung magandang condition din ng katawan.”
“We’ll see what will happen kasi yung priority naman talaga is to play for the season. Inuunti-unti na rin naman namin. We still have enough time to be ready and help the team,” Carlos spoke.
