Taylor Swift fans are in their glittering prime because she just dropped the next single off of The Tortured Poets Department.
On Tuesday, July 16, Swift chose “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart” as her next song off the record to get the single treatment. This time, Swift also released an instrumental version.
“We’re so depressed we act like it’s #ICanDoItWithABrokenHeart’s birthday every day! But today is special because Taylor’s declaring it the next single from #TSTTPD!” the official Taylor Nation account wrote on Instagram.
Adding, “Lights, camera, bitch, listen to see the cute new cover on all streaming platforms.”
The announcement included the cover art for the new releases, which shows Swift, 34, in the sparkly set she wears when she performs the song live and is surrounded by feathered fans.
On July 9, Swift released a stripped-down acoustic version of “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone. Along with the acoustic version, she also released an upbeat remix with New York indie-pop duo Cults, which speeds up the production with some bright instrumentation.
The various “Fortnight” singles followed a dreamy remix released in collaboration with DJ BLOND:ISH on May 21.
Swift is currently on the international run of her Eras Tour shows, making her next stop in Gelsenkirchen, Germany for three shows from July 17 through July 19. She will then perform shows across Germany, Poland, Austria and England before concluding the run on Aug. 20. After that, the Eras Tour will head back to the United States and Canada from Oct. 18 through Dec. 8.
During her show in London on June 23, Swift surprised the crowd by bringing out her boyfriend and NFL star Travis Kelce onstage during her “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart” outfit change.
On July 15, Swift reflected on her memorable two shows in Milan where she started coughing after swallowing a bug in the midst the secret songs segment, debuted new outfits and experienced a piano malfunction.
“WOW. MILAN,” Swift began. “Those were truly 2 of my favorite crowds ever.”
The Grammy winner continued, “The passion and generosity you showed us… it was a dream come true to perform for you. Grazi mille!! We’ll be back!!”
