We’ve all dreaded the moment in which Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry decides to call it quits as an NBA star. Throughout his career, the ‘Chef’ has become the tip of the spear of an NBA dynasty that reached a whopping six NBA finals in the span of a decade. Out of those six finals, the team only lost two of them and Stephen Curry was a major protagonist in all four championships they won. Known as the ‘Splash Bros’, Stephen Curry was part of a lethal dup with Klay Thompson, who recently left the Golden State Warriors to play for the Dallas Mavericks. This exit seems to have made a profound effect not only on Warriors fans but Stephen Curry as well. Although he just accepted a new year’s worth of contract, we have an update on his potential retirement.

Stephen Curry just agreed on a one-year extension that is worth $62.6 million and it will keep him on the team until the end of the 2026-27 season. Upon his return to activity after the successful Olympic Games, Stephen Curry is back in the lab and getting ready for next season. At 36 years old, Curry expects to at least win another championship ring but the task won’t be as easy as it seems. On Wednesday, Curry told a shocking admission to reporters after practice. He said: “You can’t play this game for life, but the fact that being with the Warriors for this long and championship window that we’ve had, you want to keep that open for as long as possible.”

But hoping to retire as a Golden State Warrior is an entirely different subject that has been a matter of debate within the Warriors as of late. In recent days, the folks at Athlon Sports even said that Curry is trying to recruit a new NBA star for the team. Reports of him allegedly talking to Paul George before the All-Star signed a new contract with the Philadelphia 76ers haven’t been confirmed yet. There is also a report that suggests Curry will leave the Warriors if the team doesn’t sign a Klay Thompson replacement. It’s a relly tricky situation that just got a lot more pressing due to this retirement admission. What’s in store for Curry and the Warriors?
