Before the game takes place on August 1, some people are interested in Team USA’s health. So far, there are no players on the injury list, including Curry. The Golden State Warriors star is likely to play against South Sudan on Thursday.

In their first game against Serbia on Sunday, Curry was part of the starting lineup and played significant minutes. He had 21 minutes of action and 11 points, three rebounds and three assists. The four-time NBA champion shot 3-7 from beyond the arc and 4-8 from the field.

Team USA played against South Sudan during their tune-up games. They were the fourth team out of the five the USA faced during that span. Curry was available during that game and was on the floor for 23 minutes.

The two-time NBA MVP finished with 10 points, three rebounds and three assists. He struggled to be a reliable shooter from the field, as he only made three out of his 10 attempts. Curry also shot 3-9 from behind the three-point arc.

South Sudan’s hot shooting from beyond the arc was key in their near-victory against Team USA. They made 14 out of 33 shots from deep and were on fire for most of the game. The team also played better defensively with seven blocks and three steals.

Many fans are waiting to see how Team USA will adjust against South Sudan to capture their second-straight win.

Steph Curry reflects on his first Olympic game

Steph Curry wasn’t the focus in their game against Serbia. While he did help with his 11 points, there were expectations that he’d do more. Still, what’s important is that they get their win and are focused on winning the gold medal.

After the game, Curry shared what he felt in his first Olympic game.

“I had a lot of nerves pregame, up until the national anthem,” Curry said. “It was a really cool environment in there. It obviously was sold out to the nosebleeds. The energy was great. Putting on this jersey at this level — I’ve been looking forward to it for a very long time, and I’m just enjoying the moment.”

This is his first time participating in the Olympics and is hopeful to help Team USA remain dominant in the game of basketball.
