The ‘greatest’ shooter of all time isn’t that great when it comes to his height. He’s rather small. Smaller than the usual lot you see in the NBA. While he might be considered somewhat smaller than the others, or maybe even below average, his skill set and the way he changed the modern-day NBA will always tower on his resume.
Unlike many other players who depend on their strength and size, Curry’s finesse comes from his agility, precise shooting, and quick decision-making. He’s so accurate that he’s a formidable force for the Golden State Warriors. His techniques have inspired generations of players to overcome their physical attributes and focus on playing the game.
Overall, his height has never been a hindrance to his gameplay, ever. Rather, it’s a testament to his talent. So how tall is he, really?
How tall is Stephen Curry?
Stephen Curry is listed to be 6-foot-3 (1.91 m) with shoes and 6-foot-2 (1.88 m) without shoes. His height definitely puts him several inches shorter than his competitors on the court, but he covers for it with his ruthless skills. His shooting precision literally “cooks” his opponents, giving him the nickname Chef Curry.
Playing alongside players who are big and tall, Curry looks pretty short. Heck, he looks like he might just be under 6 feet. But of course, that is not true at all.
The Chef insisted in the past that people seem to underestimate his height. And for the most part, yes, they do. While Curry may be 6’2 or 6’2without shoes, it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, all players are going to be wearing shoes on the court, which gives them an extra inch or an inch and a half to add to their height.

However, with Steph, the Warrior indeed stands at 6 foot 3. “People don’t realize I’m 6’3″, which is kind of above average height. But when you see me out there with all the 6’8″, 6’9″, 7-footers, I look small. But when they see me in person, they’re kind of surprised that I’m taller than I look on the court.”, said Steph.
Another factor that plays a role in height is the player’s physique. In-person, Curry does look kind of huge. It’s because he is physique is athletic and the Baby-Faced Assassin has a lot of muscle.
Steph was pretty skinny when he came into the league. He faced the same issue in high school as he looked quite weak while standing at 5-foot-10. However, over time, Curry’s physique has seen a drastic change. Though his famous nickname, the Baby-Faced Assassin, is what was more famous? But what was the origin of this nickname?
Stephen Curry didn’t look like an ‘adult’
Yes, that’s right. When Curry first started playing, people didn’t see a player wearing a jersey. It was rather the jersey was wearing him. Yes, he didn’t look like an adult on the court. His face had the look of a teenager while his game and age told otherwise. No, he did not resemble an actual baby’s face, instead; he looked pretty young for his age at the time. With the small height and a jersey he could have probably taken from some bigger man’s closet, people wondered if he could prove his mettle in the NBA.
But, it was his shooting skills that got the ‘Assassin’ attached to his other nickname. For the record, Curry got his nickname even before he made it to the NBA. The nickname, Baby-Faced Assassin, originated during Steph’s college days.
He was one of the greatest shooters in his class, and he proved the same early on in his career. Initially, he suffered from multiple ankle injuries, which came to a point where the Warriors were about to trade him. However, Steph recovered and was back better than ever. Stephen Curry’s initial years in the league were quite the journey for him. The struggle was real, but Curry managed to get through it and go on to win four titles.
