Already touted as the next face of the NBA, Anthony Edwards had a starry night in Paris. The 22-year-old rising star put up a show against Puerto Rico in the last group stage game, overshadowing his peers. However, the star shooting guard didn’t fail to pay respect to his veteran superstar teammates, LeBron James and Kevin Durant after the game. Above all, Ant-Man, looking up to his teammates, has given a promise to King James along with a pleading request to coach Steve Kerr.

With already two dominating wins, the US side had already secured a spot in the knockouts. However, coach Steve Kerr demanded more, as he said, “We want the No. 1 seed. It gives you the best matchup in the quarter-finals,” before the contest. Edwards certainly has responded to it, as he dropped a quick-fire 26 points in 17 minutes, taking the team to a 21-point blowout win. Eventually securing the top seed.

Following the game, Anthony Edwards had all the media attention. Rightfully so. And the reporters didn’t waste the opportunity to get out the words from the young man. A reporter asked about the rising superstar’s experience of playing alongside his childhood idol, Kevin Durant. Excited about the question, Edwards spoke about KD along with another superstar. He said, “Hell yeah! Him, and LeBron, they are the best two people. Team players, they always wanna see the person next to them shine, and I’m the same way. It’s perfect. It’s perfect.”

Furthermore, Ant-Man went on to reveal the promise he made to LeBron James amid their quest for gold. Edwards continued, “He loves to pass it to me. I love to catch it and shoot it. I told him, if you ain’t got a shot, I’ll find one. We indeed saw plenty of catch-and-shoot action in the middle, as he went 11/15 FG, which included 3 three-pointers. Nevertheless, the rising superstar still has an earnest request despite everything going right.

What is Anthony Edwards’ pleading request?

Even though the NBA world constantly compared Anthony Edwards with Michael Jordan, the rising star always had his eyes set on Kevin Durant. It’s a well-known fact that Ant-Man idolizes KD. Interestingly, we saw an uncanny version of a fanboy moment in the NBA playoffs. The 22-year-old went after his superstar in the play-off first round, chirping at him throughout the series. Nevertheless, it was indeed a wholesome moment for the fans.

Fast forward to now, they both play on the same team, it’s certainly a dream come true for Edwards. Importantly, KD has been coming off the bench in this tournament because of his calf injury recovery.
