Germany national team sharpshooter Andreas Obst revealed that during a short meeting with Stephen Curry, he revealed that the Team USA star is his GOAT, and he tried to exchange jerseys with the Golden State Warriors icon.

Germany national team sharpshooter Andreas Obst had the opportunity to meet his idol.

Just before the 2024 Paris Olympics started, Germany played an exhibition game against Team USA, in which Obst had the opportunity to catch up with Stephen Curry.

“I wanted to let him know that he’s my GOAT,” Obst revealed to BasketNews. “He’s really the GOAT. He’s the best shooter of all time. He was like a role model to me.”

In the exhibition game mentioned, Obst scored 17 points on 5-11 shooting from deep. In fact, he did better than Curry, who finished the game with 13 points, making only 1-of-7 3-pointers.

Nevertheless, Obst admitted how big of an influence Curry had on his game, revealing he even tried to swap jerseys with the Team USA star.

“I’ve been watching him since I really wanted to shoot the ball. I really wanted to say I appreciated and enjoyed playing against him. I also asked if it’s possible to exchange jerseys or something. But we’ll manage [to do it] somehow,” Obst concluded.

It’s possible that Obst’s and Curry’s roads will cross in the 2024 Paris Olympics, as Team USA and Germany are in separate groups.
