Creamline Cool Smashers star Michele Gumabao has no plans to leave volleyball, despite her intention to try her luck in showbiz.

According to Gumabao, just like when she joined Binibining Pilipinas in 2016, she plans to continue playing in the Premier Volleyball League while also pursuing opportunities in the entertainment world.

“This is not goodbye to volleyball,” Gumabao said. “When I joined Binibining Pilipinas in 2016, my professional volleyball career just started. At that time, I felt that I really had to prioritize volleyball. I wanted to see how far I would go in volleyball.”

“Now that I’ve been playing in the professional league for 10 years already, maybe, towards the end of my volleyball career, I will not leave yet, but of course, as you grow older and you have a lot of different priorities, I want to try out different areas,” she added.

Gumabao is not new to showbiz, as she previously participated in ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother. However, a hectic schedule has prevented her from having a full-fledged entertainment career.

“For me at that time, I really chose to focus on one thing and do good, so my attention will not be divided. At that time, I wanted my mind to be 100 percent focused,” Gumabao said.

“I don’t think I will be known in showbiz if not for sports, which also gave me many opportunities,” she added. “Whatever my work ethic in sports is—you’re patient and you try to work with your teammates—I will adopt that and bring that into show business.”

Michele is the daughter of former actor Dennis Roldan and the sister of actor Marco Gumabao.
