Stephen Curry continues his aggressive political campaign against Donald Trump
Stephen Curry does not agree with Donald Trump’s policies
Stephen Curry, star of the Golden State Warriors, joined his coach Steve Kerr in voicing his opinion at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held in Chicago. On the fourth and final day of events at the United Center, Curry appeared in a video wearing the gold medal he recently won with the U.S. team at the Paris Olympics, expressing his support for Vice President Kamala Harris. It has long been known that he opposes Donald Trump.
In his message, Curry emphasized the importance of unity both in sports and in politics, noting that this same unity is what Harris can bring to the country if she becomes president. “I believe Kamala, as president, could restore that unity and continue to move our country forward. It’s about preserving hope and belief in our country,” Curry stated. He also recalled his visit to the White House last year, where he had the opportunity to meet Harris and reaffirmed his confidence in her readiness to assume the Oval Office.
Curry’s video was part of a program that included personalities such as Kerry Washington, Reverend Al Sharpton, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Senator Liz Warren, culminating with Harris’s acceptance speech. Stephen Curry’s participation is not surprising, as he has been a vocal supporter of political causes, having previously supported Joe Biden at the 2020 DNC alongside his wife, Ayesha Curry.
Political Engagement
Additionally, Curry has shown willingness to further involve himself in politics in the future, a fact supported by his repeated visits to the White House under both the administrations of Barack Obama and Biden. His relationship with the White House has not always been smooth, as in 2017, following the Warriors’ titles, then-President Donald Trump publicly withdrew their invitation after Curry announced he would not attend.
Curry’s appearance at the DNC underscores his commitment to political activism and his support for leaders who, in his view, can unify the country and promote the well-being of all American families
