PAUL Garcia earned a roster spot for Barangay Ginebra in Season 49 of the PBA after officially signing with the ballclub on Monday.

Garcia, a Fil-Am guard from a Division III school who had a brief stint with Ateneo in the UAAP, was signed to a two-year deal with the Kings, according to his representative Charlie Dy.

He was a third-round pick of the Kings in the last rookie draft, but appeared to have gotten the nod of coach Tim Cone following an impressive showing during the team’s friendly against New Taipei Kings in Macau last week.

Ginebra team governor Alfrancis Chua was on hand during the contract signing.

Garcia is the second rookie signed by the Kings for the coming season together with no. 3 overall pick RJ Abarrientos.
