Erica Staunton: Playing for Creamline is a once-in-a-lifetime experience

Erica Staunton described her time as the Creamline Cool Smashers’ import in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference as an experience of a lifetime.

Staunton expressed her gratitude to the Cool Smashers for trusting her in her first stint as an overseas import, following her recent graduation from the University of Georgia.

“I am so grateful to Creamline for taking the risk and bringing me out here; this is an experience of a lifetime,” Staunton said in a post-game interview.

Staunton, who tallied just 13 points in the Creamline’s title-clinching win against the Akari Power Chargers, added that playing for the Cool Smashers was also a learning experience for her.

“It was all about confidence, just trying to stay composed, especially for me; this is my first time to play in a championship, obviously,” Staunton said.

“Learning from my teammates, looking forward to the next points, not just trying to win the whole game yet, but just the next point,” she added.

Staunton will attempt for her second overseas crown as the Cool Smashers compete in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference next.
