In the wake of the Paris Olympics, where Stephen Curry dazzled the world with his extraordinary basketball skills, hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg has weighed in on what it takes to stop the unstoppable. Having witnessed Curry’s brilliance firsthand, Snoop Dogg, like many others, was left in awe of the Golden State Warriors’ superstar. However, he also brought a touch of humor to the conversation by suggesting an unconventional method as the only way to slow Curry down.
Snoop Dogg recently took to Instagram to share a clip from an event in South Korea in 2017, where Curry faced an amusing yet formidable defense. The video showed Curry trying to navigate a court where two massive inflatable balloons were used to block the entire rim, making it virtually impossible for the sharpshooter to make his signature three-pointers. To add to the absurdity, Curry’s opponents were shooting into an oversized rim, making it nearly impossible for them to miss. The usually composed Curry could only smile at the creativity of the tactic, which rendered him powerless.

In his Instagram post, Snoop Dogg captioned the clip with, “Only way it’s fair now,” humorously implying that this was the only effective strategy to stop Curry, especially after his stellar performances at the Olympics. The 52-year-old artist even joked that Serbia and France could have used this tactic during the semifinals and final to stand a chance against the star guard.
Curry’s performance in Paris was nothing short of legendary. He shot an impressive 17 of 26 from beyond the arc and scored a total of 60 points, leading Team USA to their fifth consecutive gold medal. His clutch plays in the final against France, where he scored 12 points in the last three minutes, including an off-balance three-pointer that sealed the victory, were the talk of the tournament.
While many fans, analysts, and former players believed Curry’s heroics should have earned him the tournament’s MVP award, it was ultimately given to LeBron James for his consistent performance over six games. Despite this, Curry’s unforgettable display was undoubtedly the highlight of Team USA’s campaign in Paris.
Snoop Dogg’s playful suggestion of using giant inflatable balloons as a defense might be a joke, but it underscores just how dominant Stephen Curry has become on the basketball court. With his unmatched shooting ability and clutch performances, Curry continues to solidify his place as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
