VOLLEYBALL star Alyssa Valdez insisted she and national player Kiefer Ravena are just good friends despite persistent rumors linking the two Ateneo sports stars.

The hard-hitting spiker was forced to once again face the issue after being pressed by mediamen, including those from the world of show business, about the real score on Monday during the launch of the PLDT Home Ultera ambassador and ambassadress of which Alyssa is one of them.

“Hindi po totoo, talagang we’re really good friends since I entered Ateneo. So I think that’s it, wala naman po,” said Valdez shyly.

Both Valdez and Ravena are on their final player year of eligibility with the Katipunan-based school.

“We’re all good friends, everything’s okay eh. Kiefer naman we’ve been good friends since before so ‘yun, ‘yun. Good friends talaga,” she stressed.

The 22-year-old national player acknowledged as the face of Philippine volleyball today was thrust into the limelight recently as rumors tagged her as the third party in the sudden breakup of Ravena and La Salle star Mika Reyes.

Reyes, who, along with Lady Spiker teammate Ara Galang are also PLDT Home Ultera’s team of ambassadress, was not around during the press conference held simultaneously with La Salle’s training.

Valdez, from San Juan, Batangas, however insisted she has nothing to do with the breakup.

“Wala naman po, wala naman. We’re friends po, we’re friends so let’s ano..,” she said.

Aside from Valdez, the celebrated Santiago sisters Dindin and Jaja were also present after also being named PLDT Home Ultera ambassadress.

Charming Rachel Anne Daquis was also a no-show as she is still currently in Canada.

Peter Torres was also around as PLDT Home Ultera ambassador, but Johnvic de Guzman failed to make it as he has a game with St. Benilde in the Spikers’ Turf.
