NBA star Stephen Curry secured a place in history during the Paris 2024Olympic Games when he led the U.S. men’s basketball team to an impressive 98-87 victory over France, securing the 17th gold medal for the American team. This achievement was especially significant for Curry, who finally added an Olympic gold medal to his extensive trophy collection.

However, Curry and his family’s celebration in Paris was quickly marred by an unfortunate encounter with French fans. After a dinner at the exclusive L’Avenue restaurant to celebrate with teammates, the Curry family was mobbed by fans as they were leaving the establishment. The situation became tense when they invaded Steph’s personal space provoking an angry reaction.

Visibly upset, Curry shouted, “Watch out! Get that out of my mom’s face!” as he tried to shield his family from the French fans’ siege. Ayesha Curry, wife of the star, walked right behind him making her way through the crowd.

Curry, star of the Golden State Warriors, has been a constant advocate of respect for his family and the need to maintain certain boundaries. His Team USA teammate LeBron James had a similar altercation with a fan, also in Paris.

James even had some rude behavior towards the French teenager who was looking to take a picture with him. The Los Angeles Lakers star broke character by having this surprisingly rude interaction with a young French fan when he arrived at the club to celebrate his Olympic gold medal.

The men’s basketball final at the Summer Olympics was a spectacle of pure talent and precision. Curry scored 24 points, dished out five assists and made eight three-pointers, including a spectacular layup that left two French defenders paralyzed with 36 seconds left. With the victory, Team USA continued its dominance in men’s Olympic basketball.

While the on-court victory was monumental, the episode with the French fans marked an awkward moment for the NBA stars looking to celebrate their Olympic gold in Paris.
